What is the Bible? |
The Bible is a compilation of 66 books and letters written by more than 40 authors during a period of approximately 1,500 years. The Word of God The Bible itself claims to be the inspired Word of God, or "God-breathed" (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21). It unfolds as a divine love story between the Creator God and the object of his love--man. In the pages of the Bible we learn of God's interaction with mankind, his purposes and plans, from the beginning of time and throughout history. The central theme of the Bible is God's plan of salvation--his way of providing deliverance from sin and spiritual death through repentance and faith. In the Old Testament, the concept of salvation is rooted in Israel's deliverance from Egypt in the book of Exodus. The New Testament reveals the source of salvation: Jesus Christ. By faith in Jesus, believers are saved from God's judgment of sin and its consequence, which is eternal death. In the Bible God reveals himself to us. We discover his nature and character, his love, his justice, his forgiveness, and his truth. Many have called the Bible a guidebook for living the Christian faith. Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." (NIV) |

Is there any truth in the Bible? | The Bible is the inpired word of God. It is without error and without contradiction. It was penned by men under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. They were allowed to use their own rhetoric and their own style but the words are Gods. The Bible is a book of many books. The Bible contians two main sections, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament contains the historical books, poetic books and the prophets. The New Tesatment contains the four gospels and epistles (letters) and one prophetic book, Revealtion. The Bible is Gods own record of His dealing with men, His unfolding revelation of Himself, for instruction and guidance in the way of life. God is revealing Himself to mankind. The Bible, composed by many authors, over a period of many centuries, yet, ONE BOOK, is, in itself the outstanding miracle of the ages, bearing a loft, its own evidence of its superhuman origin. The Bible was wriiten by over 40 different authors over a period in excess of 1500 years. Yet there is a contunity throughout that it could have only been composed of one mind- that is the mind of God. | |

There was no clouds. It's job is to create an even ideal temperature all around the world, with just the right balance of oxygen, air pressure, and moisture. A perfect environment for lush vegetation, long life span, and more. The vegetation was huge and abundant. Man and animals were huge and strong. ] |

11 And God said, h“Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants5 yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. God made the two lights, one to rule over the day.. |
What about this one? 14 And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for isigns and for jseasons,6 and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16 And God kmade the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. 17 And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 to lrule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. Have you seen these in the sky? 20 And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds7 fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” 21 So mGod created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 And God blessed them, saying, n“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23 And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day. |

26 Then God said, o“Let us make man8 in our image, pafter our likeness. And qlet them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; rmale and female he created them. 28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, s“Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. tYou shall have them for food. 30 And uto every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. 31 vAnd God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. On the seventh day God rested | God rested, and enjoyed His creations that He had Made.
The Seventh Day, God Rests 2 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and wall the host of them. 2 And xon the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. 3 So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation. [ Here is the key to understanding what this means.... (also - see the big word REMEMBER? It is saying 'Look, remember what I told you at Creation ....' ] [ See Exodus 20:8-11 .. 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. ] And in Heaven and the new earth we will be doing? ... 'From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,' says the Lord. Isaiah 66:23 (NIV) 1 John 5:3 , John 14:15 , John 14:23 , Rev 14:12 , Rev 12:17 |
